Combat
To defeat the enemies in the castle you need to engage them in combat. Combat is performed using fight cards dragged and dropped on top of the enemies to reduce their health. Once an enemy's health recaches zero they are defeated.

2 | Your stats showing your health (red) and resolve (blue). The number in the shield shows your defence value (the amount an enemy must beat to successfully land a strike). Your currently equipped weapon also appears here with the amount of points of damage it will do to the enemy. |
3 | A random selection of cards from your current fight card deck are shown at the bottom of the screen. This is your 'hand'. |

Attacking an enemy
Click and drag a Sword card from your 'hand' and drop it on the enemy of your choice. This will reduce the enemy's health by the number of points indicated by the sword in the player attributes area.
There is a small chance that the enemy will block your attack.
Reducing an enemy's attack
Click and drag a shield from your 'hand' and drop it on the enemy of your choice. This will reduce the enemy's attack. The amount of points of attack an enemy will inflict is shown by the sword icon above their health bar. You need to apply the same number of shield cards to reduce their attack to zero. Shield points applied to an enemy reset after each round.
Special Cards
Each class of player (Fighter/Crusader/Mage/Rogue) has a different set of special fight cards. These are chosen at certain times throughout the game. They all have different attributes and can be used in combination with other cards. Some are attack cards or attack modifier cards, i.e. they affect the damage done by subsequent cards. Most attack cards' effects last only for the current round, unless specified.
