Phantasy Crypts

Gameplay

The Basics

Each Phantasy Crypt consists of a series of rooms with interconnected corridors. There will be one entry point and one exit point and to exit a crypt you will need to defeat a boss enemy.

Movement

Use the keys W, A, S and D to move forward, left, backwards and to the right. The mouse is used to look around and change direction.

Movement on mobile devices

Use the on-screen direction pad to move and drag around in the area in the centre of the screen to look around and change direction.

Doors

Use the navigation bar at the top of the screen to find the doors that will take you on to more corridors and rooms.

Map and Navigation

Press the 'M' key or touch the map icon on mobile to open the map. When the map appears it will focus on the current room that you are in. You can drag around, zoom in and out to see more of the crypt's layout.

**HINT**

Use the navigation bar at the top of the screen showing your heading N, S, E or W in combination with the map to assist in navigating the crypt.

Monsters

Monsters will appear when you enter a room. They will approach you and engage in combat. See the section on combat for detailed instructions.

**HINT**

You will not be able to leave the room until you have fought the monsters.

**HINT**

When re-entering a room after defeating the monsters, there is a random chance that the monsters will respawn.

Chests

Most, but not all, rooms contain one or more chests. Approach the chest and either press 'F' or touch the prompt. To open the chest you will need to roll a dice. Depending on your intelligence modifier you will either succeed or fail. Be prepared for a surprise if you roll a 0.
