Details

Nodosaurids were four-legged plant-eating dinosaurs that belonged to the same suborder as the The family of ankylosaurids. They had a layer of bony plates covering the head And upper to protect themeslves from attack. Short legs gave little room for attackers to strike at the softer area underneath the body. Another feaure of these dinosaurs was a row of spines sticking out along the side of the body. Common to the Ornithischia family, nodosaurids had a horny beak And leaf-shaped teeth to cope with the vegetation that it lived on.

The nodosaurids are very similar to another family of dinosaurs known as the ankylosaurids. They are similar in size And shape. The nodosaurids did Not have the bony club at the end of the tail. nodosaurids evolved much earlier than the ankylosaurids begining in the middle of the Jurassic era, but it appears that they existed until the dinosaurs died out at the end of the Cretaceous period.
