4 of 6:This is the main gatehouse of the castle. It is defended by loopholes and
by machicolations in the parapet. Machicolations are openings built into the
roof of the gatehouse that allow defenders to drop items onto attackers. The
gatehouse was further defended by a series of three portcullises and doors.

5 of 6: The castle has a central courtyard surrounded by living quarters needed by
the Lord and his attendants. There was a chapel, a large hall, kitchen and
stables for the horses.
