Adeliza (of Louvain)

Died: Apr 1151

deliza of Louvain was the second wife of Henry I. After Henry's death in 1135 Adeliza married William de Albini, also known as William d'Aubigny. The castle at Arundel formed part of Adeliza's dowry and she and her husband lived at the castle. When Matilda came to England to fight King Stephen for the English throne Matilda asked her step-mother for help.

gnes of Meran was the third wife of Philip Augustus, King of France. The marriage of Philip and Agnes was disputed because Philip's marriage to his second wife Ingeborg had not been annulled. Agnes had a son, called Philip who became Count of Boulogne.

Albini, William de

lso known as William de Aubigny . In 1138 William married Adeliza of Louvain, the widow of King Henry I of England. William took ownership of Arundel Castle and became the first Earl of Arundel.

Amalric (II, King of Jerusalem, 1197 - 1205)

Born: 1145 Died: 1205

he Constable of the county of Jaffa and Ascalon, one of the main lordships of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Amalric was the brother of King Guy of Cyprus who died in May 1194. After his brother's dead Amalric was requested to return to Cyprus and take the throne. He became King of Cyprus in September of 1197. Amalric's first wife was Eschiva of Ibelin and they had several children. Several of the sons were betrothed to the daughters of Isabella of Jerusalem but only one marriage took place, that of Hugh to Alice. Amalric married Isabella herself and became the King of Jerusalem.

ife of Richard II, king of England. She had an extravagant life style which didn't help Richard's relationship with parliament. Richard and Anne did not have any children.

1382 Jan 14  King Richard marries Anne of Bohemia
 Richard II married Anne, the sister of Wenceslas of Bohemia. This was a diplomatic move over the French as the king of France Charles V wanted Anne his marry his own son. The marriage was not popular as a large loan had to be paid to Wenceslas for the privilege. (or Jan 20). The coronation of Queen Anne took place a few days later at Westminster Abbey.

nne of Brittany was married to two French kings. Firstly she was married to Charles VIII and after his death she married Louis XII. She had several children by both kings but they all died in early childhood some only surviving for a few days.
